Sera Knight "People" Watercolour
CANCELLED Sera is one of our own society members and has been drawing and painting
since childhood. She paints mainly in watercolour, acrylic and mixed media. Regardless of the subject her aim is to use light
cleverly, to create a mystical atmosphere together with technical emotional strength. For examples of her work look

Derek
Oliver - A Coastal Scene - Acrylics/Pastel/M.M. Derek is a self taught painter with a strong interest in all
aspects of art. He has travelled extensively but found his artistic feet travelling in Spain, in an ancient Morris Minor.
Derek has painted many species of animals also landscapes, seascapes and portraits. He enjoys teaching painting techniques
and has done so for several years including art holidays in Spain throughout the year.

Price £19.00 - Maximum Attendance 16. Denise has been painting as long as she can remember,
took an A level, followed by a foundation course at St. Albans College. A professional painter since 1990, started teaching
watercolours to a local Hertfordshire Group in 2002. Denise has started up painting holidays in Menorca. Hooked on painting
seascapes, fascinated by the play of light on water. This has now become her major subject. Watch

Anderson – Flowers/Still Life – Pastels/Watercolour Many of you will remember Freda’s
“Master Class” of portraiture in pastels in July ’09. It was a cracker. Yet another
chance to see her in action, prior to her Workshop this coming June.

Haywood - Harbours - Acrylics Self taught artist who paints coastal scenes and landscapes. Aims not just
to portray the scene but to catch the mood, the feeling of the time and place. Spending his formative years on the coast of
Devon he is naturally drawn to coastal scenes, harbours, old buildings and coastal landscapes in all weathers and moods.

Harris - Wild Life - Shin Han - Watercolour An artist who has been drawing and painting all his life,
exhibiting since the age of 15 he has worked in oils, pastels and more recently W/C. He exhibits nationally combining his
love of Wild Life and nature especially Birds. He turned professional in 2002 and is now a professional Associate with the
SAA.

Coppinger - Sculpting for Films - Talk A talk on sculpting for films and other media. John has provided
special effects for such films as ‘Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets’
‘Star Wars’ ‘Walking with
Dinosaurs’ and many more. He has also done work for the Natural History Museum, the Royal
Institution Christmas Lectures and many more visual and costume effects.

Rob
Wareing - Portraits in Oil. Rob has been a professional artist for 30 years exhibiting and painting portraits
in many parts of the world. He was born and spent most of his life in S. Africa where he owned a gallery for a number of years.
He has been commissioned to paint many portraits of famous people including the State President of Botswana and Nelson Mandela.

Fenney - T.B.A. - Batik Batik Artist and also paints in M.M, W/C and pastels, Lives near Chichester with
her husband John, who is a sculptor. Has exhibited all over the south of England. Takes Students for Batik courses.

Jean Haines - Animals - Watercolour Another local artist, Jean lives in Hartley Witney and her speciality is painting animals especially dogs.
She is at present running a series in the SAA ‘Paint’ magazine
on ‘How to paint dogs in a loose style’.

of Derwent Pencils with a deceptively simple landscape followed by a beautiful study of a yellow Iris at a club night in September
‘09. She favours watercolours and inks for fluidity. Heather is a professional artist specialising in British seascapes,

Liz
Seward Relfe - Musicians - Acrylics Liz needs no introduction from me, she is a local artist living
in Lightwater who paints in acrylics, W/C and M.M, Her work has been seen by most members of SAS. She has been painting and
drawing all her life and for the last 25 years has been teaching drawing ,W/C’s and M.M. in
Adult Education. Her demonstrations are colourful, informative and fun!

Roy Lang - Seascape - Oils Roy
lives in Devon his chosen medium is oils. He is a self taught artist and has won many awards. He was voted SAA Artist of the
Year in 2000, runner up 2001, Artist of the Year 2002 and short listed for ‘Not The Turner
Prize’ in 2003. Roy was last with us in 2005 and will be remembered
for painting a wild seascape, waves crashing onto rocks under moonlight.
